DescriptionThis interior photograph of the courtroom in the Divide County Courthouse in Crosby, North Dakota shows the original terrazzo floors and dark wood trim as well as the coffered ceiling with egg-and-dart molding whose recesses are now filled with acoustical tile. The fold up gallery seats, swivel jury seats, benches and desks are the original furnishings.

Biography/HistoryBuilt in 1917, the Divide County Courthouse in Crosby, North Dakota, is an example of the classical style of many courthouses designed by the St. Paul, Minnesota architectural firm of Buchner and Orth between 1905 and 1919. These courthouses feature domed roofs, classical columns, skylights, murals ,and wall stenciling. The courthouse was entered into the National Register of Historic Places 1980-11-25.
