DescriptionA view of a crowd gathered to watch and celebrate the building of the CM&SP railway through West Mott. Visible is the Mott Concert Band gathered in a semi-circle holding their instruments and other groups of people watching the construction. The Columbia Elevator Co., Western Grain Co., and Barth Grain Co. grain elevators are all visible as well as various other wooden structures connected to the elevators.

Biography/HistoryThe Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad completed construction through Mott in late 1910. The line was built through West Mott on land owned by Jacob Barth, owner of Barth Grain Co.
