| Biography/History | The Hiram Wood was built in Wyandotte, Kansas in 1865. It was owned by Crockett, Nelson & Wood, and was captained by Alex Crockett. It snagged at Bijou Hills, Rosebud Landing, S.D. in 1873. Captain Grant Marsh bought the wreck and rebuilt it into a ferryboat called the Dr. Burleigh. It sank at or near Yankton. |
