| Biography/History | Deborah Hall (known in Fort Berthold as Dora) married Rudolf Herz in 1926, whom she met doing work for the YWCA. Hertz did mission work in South Dakota, and the couple moved to various places around the state. They moved to New York in 1933 while Rudolf Hertz got training to manage the Santee Normal School in Nebraska, which he did for three years. The Hertzes moved back to South Dakota, where Rudolf died in 1953. Later in life, Mrs. Hertz returned to the Fort Berthold Reservation to keep the parsonages and help the ministers. |
