Cathay Baptist Church was organized as a mission station of Germantown Baptist Church in 1908. The first services were held in a barn, with the church building not being built until 1913. The church was a mission station until 1925, when it incorporated as a separate congregation. A new entry was built on the church in 1960, and the interior was remodeled.
