| Biography/History | Walter Welford served in the North Dakota House (1907-1910), and Senate (1917-1920) before moving from the post of lieutenant governor to governor after Thomas H. Moodie was disqualified from taking the governorship. Welford ran for office after the end of his term, but was defeated by William Langer. Welford also served as the township clerk at Pembina for 20 years. |
