Biography/HistoryEdward Settle Godfrey was born in Ohio and graduated from West Point in 1867. He joined the 7th Cavalry in 1867 and served under George Custer until Custer's death. He served in Cuba during the Spanish American War and in the Philippines during the Philippine Insurrection. He died in 1932 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
