| Biography/History | Edward F. Sautebin was born in 1852 in Switzerland. Adella Blanchard was born in 1853 in Switzerland. The two were married on Dec. 21, 1877 and emigrated to the United States, settling in Otter Tail County, Minn., where there first child, Mary was born. The family moved to Addison in rural Cass County to farm. Nine more children were born to the family there: Fred, William E., John B., Walter A., Alice M., Ida, Luella, Harry, and Ellen I. Edward Sautebin helped organize the school district in the area, and sat on the board for 32 years. Edward died in Davenport in 1937, and Adella died in Davenport in 1934. |
