| Biography/History | Fred Lewis was born in 1880 in Indiana. At age 14, he moved to Nebraska, then moved to Aneta, N.D. later that same year. He later moved to Binford, N.D. His first job was with the Burgess Grain Company, but he also owned a meat market, was a partner in a livery stable, and was well known as an auctioneer, and served as postmaster of Binford. He married Isabelle Reid in the Mauer Hotel in Binford. Isabelle and Fred had two children: Howard and Edna. Both of the Lewises played on Binford baseball teams. Mrs. Lewis died in 1946, and Fred Lewis in 1968. |
