| Biography/History | Torval Fosholdt was born in Norway in 1874. In 1881, he immigrated with his parents to Iowa. In 1882, the Fosholdts moved to North Dakota. Toval homesteaded on land near Charlson in McKenzie County in 1903, and operated a cattle ranch there. In 1908 he married Sophia Gunderson. The Fosholdts lived in Tyrol township where Torval farmed until his death in 1911. Torval Fosholdt was also an accomplished amateur photographer. |
