| Biography/History | The Kaiser Post Office was established on Feb. 20, 1911 with Charles H. Davison as proprietor. The depot was moved to nearby Elgin in 1914, and the post office also moved to Elgin in June of that year. The township of Kaiser later changed its name to Kary during World War I because of anti-German sentiment, even though it had been named after local farmer William Kaiser, known as Kaiser Bill. |
