DescriptionBuilt in 1899, the Eddy County Courthouse in New Rockford, N.D. rises two stories above a cut stone basement level to a lantern tower cap. The tower is not a dome, but rather a pendentive and four webbed domical vault lit by multipaned windows. This vault has a non-functioning oculus on each side. The hipped roof features four small dormer gables. The windows are original. Leafless trees flank the building, while a cloudy blue sky forms the background of the photograph.
